2018 Brookline Day 1K and 5K
Viking Sports is excited to be sponsoring the Brookline Day Road Race. The course is USTAF certified with awards for division winners.
The Races
There is a kids 1K (ages 5-10) race and a longer 5K (11+) race. Viking’s team of enthusiastic coaches will lead runners in some pre race warm ups to get the blood flowing.
The race will be run rain or shine. The check-in is at the Park School, 171 Goddard Ave, Brookline MA 02445. The start and finish line is right up the road from the Park school. Parking is available at the Park School during the road race and also during the Brookline Day event (11:00AM-3:00PM).

Bib Pick Up
For all pre-registered runners, you are encouraged to pick up your bib numbers and shirts on Saturday, September 22nd at Larz Anderson Park by the Goddard Ave parking lot. You can come anytime from 12PM-2PM. The table will be located next to the comfort station. If you pick up your bib and shirt on Saturday, you DO NOT need to check in again on Sunday before the start of the race. If you are unable to come on Saturday you can pick up everything on Sunday at check-in.
Registration
Day of registration will start at 7:00AM for the Kids 1K Race (start time 8:00am) and 7:30AM for the 5K Road Race (start time 8:30am) at the Park School. We will be doing a limited number of registrations the day of registration. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you pre-register for the road race online. Day of registration will cost $35 for the 5K and $20 for the kids 1K. We will accept cash or credit card (Visa or Mastercard).
Kid’s 1K Course
The race will start at the entrance to The Park School and run up Goddard Ave. towards Larz Anderson Park. At .5K they will turn around and run back to the start line at the entrance to The Park School.
5K Course
The race will start up the road from the entrance to The Park School. You will run down Goddard Ave. until you make a left onto Cottage St. At the top of Cottage St. turn right onto Warren St. Make a left onto Dudley St and run past the reservoir. At the end of Dudley, turn left on Lee St. Lee St. turns into Clyde St. At the end of Clyde turn left onto Newton St. Take a left onto Goddard Ave. and end at the entrance to The Park School.
Divisions: Age 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+, sidecar (strollers and dogs)
Kid’s 1K Road Race (Ages 5-10): Awards will be presented to 1st place boy overall winner and 1st place girl overall winner. Pre-registration fee: $15
