There is no “I” in team. A phrase that many athletes have heard at least once in their life. In team sports there can always be standout individuals, but at the end of the day it still requires teamwork to secure a victory. At Viking, teamwork isn’t just a luxury, it is a necessity. Both our coaches and directors work as a team to make sure that our campers can get the most out of their time with us! It is the simple tasks such as setting up games, or taking campers to the restroom where our arsenal coaches must work together. Without proper communication or teamwork summer camp would become pure chaos!

Teamwork is also implemented through the different games we put our campers through. In a game of soccer, or even capture the flag a team must communicate, as well as work together to succeed. Putting campers into a situation where they must act as a member of a team allows for them to grow comfortable to the concept of relying on others, while also holding themselves accountable. We here at Viking hope that by the end of each week of camp the kids from that week have learned that individuality can only enhance teamwork.
